A set of tasks to help you get started with your new Minecraft Server.

To Start/Stop/Restart Your Server

  1. Log into Multicraft and go to your server page
  2. At the very top there are three Buttons Start, Stop & Restart
  3. Clicking on these will buttons will Start, Stop or Restart your server
  4. To the left of the buttons there is an icon that reflects the status of your server.

Choosing your Server Version

As well as the latest official release of the Minecraft Server, we also offer older and alternative server versions, including Craft Bukkit which adds plugin support.

  1. Log into Multicraft
  2. Click on your Server
  3. Scroll down and located the 'JAR file selection' drop down box
  4. Choose your desired server build from the drop down box
  5. Scoll down to the bottom and click the 'Save' button
  6. The server will use the selected version when it next starts

Op your Player

  1. Log into Multicraft
  2. Click on your server
  3. Click on Console
  4. Type in the console 'op <player name>'
  5. Click 'Send'

This will give the player access to the server commands from within the game. To run a command while in game, open the chat window with 'T' and type in the command preceded with a forward-slash, e.g. '/help'

  • help (? or h will work too)

Whitelist your server so only you and your friends can join

The whitelist is a list of players who are allowed to join your server. To change this you do the following.
Log into Multicraft and go to your server page
  1. Click on the 'Console' link on the left hand side
  2. To turn Whitelisting On, in the text entry field type: whitelist on
  3. To turn Whitelisting Off, in the text entry field type: whitelist off
  4. To list players on the Whitelist, in the text entry field type: whitelist list
  5. To add a player to the Whitelist, in the text entry field type: whitelist add playername
  6. To remove a player from the Whitelist, in the text entry field type: whitelist remove playername

If you are op you can do this in-game with the / before the command

/whitelist on
/whitelist off
/whitelist list
/whitelist add playername
/whitelist remove playername

Scheduled Tasks

One task which is worth running daily is the world backup script

Create Daily Backup

  1. Click Scheduled tasks
  2. Click New Task
  3. Give it the name of 'Daily World Backup'
  4. Check interval and change to '1 Days'
  5. Choose the option 'Create Backup' from the command dropdown
  6. Run for the 'Server'
  7. Click Create

Restart the server daily if empty

  1. Click Scheduled tasks
  2. Click New Task
  3. Give it the name of 'Daily World Restart'
  4. Check interval and change to '1 Days'
  5. Scheduled Time set the time different to any other scheduled tasks
  6. Choose the option 'Restart if Empty' from the command dropdown
  7. Run for the 'Server'
  8. Click Create
