Ocean Outlast has you take a vacation into the deadliest of oceans. Randomly generated each time you load into a new instance of the modpack, you’ll never have the same vacation twice. The gods have gotten angry and you need to pay for it since you sunk an important city.

What to Expect out of your Ocean Outlast Server

Experience a deadly tropical vacation where the gods of the ocean have punished the players for sinking Atlantis! You’ll be tasked with exploring out to various islands, meeting up with many deadly creatures in Mowzie’s Mobs and Doomlike Dungeons that can simply ruin your day. Fret not though as not all these islands will be bad, some offering newer utensils with Tinkers’ Construct, Psi, and even giving you Primitive Mobs for taming. Using these utensils and mobs, you’ll be able to offer sacrifices to the gods and help rebuild some land in Thaumcraft.

  • Memory Guideline
    To avoid lag or memory errors, order a minimum of 6GB of RAM. If you are playing with friends or planning on hosting a public server consider ordering 7GB or more. You won't know your exact requirements until you start building and getting more players on. Don't worry you can quickly upgrade your memory as your server grows. Follow this guide if you need to upgrade.

  • Recommended Max Players is our best guess on how many slots gives good performance per GigaByte of RAM. It relates to how many players can join before running into lag or out-of-memory errors. Newer servers with lots of mods/plugins will have less players per GB, you won't know exactly how many players until your server gets busy. You have Unlimited Slots, set this in the control panel, use your slots wisely. It's a guideline not set in bedrock!

Why is Ocean Outlast so Laggy and Stuttering?

The reason is CurseForges' Launcher is missing the default Minecraft JAVA Arguments, without these will cause client lag such as judders or client lockups, commonly known as lag spikes. To fix CurseForge Ocean Outlast lag, do this:

  1. Open the CurseForge app
  2. Click Cog > Minecraft
  3. Add this to Additional Arguments
  4. Increase the Allocated Memory to modpack authors recommended settings
  5. Click the top-right
  6. Restart the Ocean Outlast, for no lag
