Direwolf20 brings a relaxing feel in his modded playthroughs. The Direwolf20 Series are public releases of the modpacks he plays to give players a newfound comfort like he has. It’s due to this that he makes it so the player has no need or worry to follow a quest book or changed guidelines. The free flow of Minecraft’s sandbox nature is kept in great preservation.
With an application to the Nether Update, Direwolf brings in a good collection of mods for this time of the game’s lifespan. You may have no goal in mind when getting into this pack, but that was the entire point as you’ll be given free reign to do anything you want as if this was the vanilla game. A recommendation for starting out is learning how to use Tinker’s Construct to create invulnerable tools that may break once in a while, but can be upgraded and given better form later on. This’ll be very useful especially when you start messing with building mods such as Chisels & Bits for detailed building by the 16ths or going through the Macaw’s Modded Series for different stylized roofs, windows, and doors.
If you feel like going on a journey through the world after having established a base, look for the structures created in Dungeon Crawl as they’ll contain some of the largest labyrinths in the overworld. Maybe you’ll encounter Minecolonies villagers along these travels in which you can assist them to be able to grow your own personal village. Or you could hire your own army of Rats to cook, mine, fight, and build so you don’t even have to lift a finger. The possibilities are endless with the sandbox game ever expanded.
