What to Expect out of your SkyT Server

Whether you’re someone beginning on their Skyblock or an experienced modded player, SkyT is a modpack made for you. Stuck in space, the skyblock that current resides as home will need to be salvaged for progression. Guiding the way through this home, FTB Quests offers new guidelines to follow along that make it possible to get between each step.

You’ll have to start out small by gathering bits of logs and silkworms, maybe even scavenge a few pebbles. Once its done though, you can use Ex Nihilo: Sequentia to start grinding the materials into something new. They can translate to the Ore Trees of Ore Trees:Reborn, into small components for the Building Gadgets, or be used to make the first transmutation of ProjectE. There’s a lot ot be discovered with this beginner friendly yet complicated journey that can get you back to your real home.

RAM Requirements & Player Slots

  • Memory Guideline
    To avoid lag or memory errors, order a minimum of 4GB of RAM. If you are playing with friends or planning on hosting a public server consider ordering 5GB or more. You won't know your exact requirements until you start building and getting more players on. Don't worry you can quickly upgrade your memory as your server grows. Follow this guide if you need to upgrade.

  • Recommended Max Players is our best guess on how many slots gives good performance per GigaByte of RAM. It relates to how many players can join before running into lag or out-of-memory errors. Newer servers with lots of mods/plugins will have less players per GB, you won't know exactly how many players until your server gets busy. You have Unlimited Slots, set this in the control panel, use your slots wisely. It's a guideline not set in bedrock!

Why is SkyT so Laggy and Stuttering?

The reason is CurseForges' Launcher is missing the default Minecraft JAVA Arguments, without these will cause client lag such as judders or client lockups, commonly known as lag spikes. To fix CurseForge SkyT lag, do this:

  1. Open the CurseForge app
  2. Click Cog > Minecraft
  3. Add this to Additional Arguments
  4. Increase the Allocated Memory to modpack authors recommended settings
  5. Click the top-right
  6. Restart the SkyT, for no lag
