How to set and change Crash Landing Maps

Your Crash Landing Server comes with the World Manager. Use it to quickly switch between various world presets and manage the worlds you create.

The World Manager is built into your StickyPiston Server and offers simple world creation and management tools. Here is how to reset your Crash Landing Server.

1. Click on World Manager
2. Click Create New World
3. Give it a World Name and configure the World Settings
4. Make sure you’re in the Template World world type
5. Click on any World Template that has reset
6. Scroll down and click Create New World

Memory Requirements & Player Slots

  • Memory Guideline Start with 1.5GB of RAM, minimum tested for smooth server performance. For hosting friends or public servers, 2.5GB is recommended to handle more players and chunks. Upgrade RAM if lag hits, easy fix
  • Max Players estimates slots per GB before lag or out-of-memory errors. Mods/plugins reduce players per GB, and limits show as servers get busy. Unlimited Slots, set wisely in the control panel. It’s a guideline, not set in bedrock!

Why is Crash Landing so Laggy and Stuttering?

The reason is CurseForges' Launcher is missing the default Minecraft JAVA Arguments, without these will cause client lag such as judders or client lockups, commonly known as lag spikes. To fix CurseForge Crash Landing lag, do this:

  1. Open the CurseForge app
  2. Click Cog > Minecraft
  3. Add this to Additional Arguments
  4. Increase the Allocated Memory to modpack authors recommended settings
  5. Click the top-right
  6. Restart the Crash Landing, for no lag

How to reset and change the Crash Landing maps

Map reset script

Using this script you can manually reset your Crash Landing map and start over with the pack on a fresh new world

Resetting Map

Running the script

Run the script by opening your Multicraft panel and clicking on “Console” on the left-hand side. You can then enter the command into the text box and hit “enter” or “send” to execute it.

The command for Crash Landing is as follows:

builtin:script resetmap [-d|-b] MAPTOKEN

With the “-d|-b” being a choice of one option and “MAPTOKEN” being the name of your new map type (This is not the world name!)

 

Options:

The two options of “-d” and “-b” will decide what happens to your existing world.
“-d” will delete the world and not keep a back-up of it.
“-b” will create a back-up of your existing world and save it as a .zip folder on your server.

 

Map Tokens

Map tokens are specific to each pack and will decide which type of map is generated. In Crash Landing, there are a lot to choose from and you will need either the list below or to run the script without the extra choices mentioned above.
This command lists all the maps:

builtin:script resetmap
MAP NAME TOKEN
world-reset DEFAULT
world-reset-nohc NOHARDCORE

 

Two Examples

So let’s say you want to try a more challenging version of the pack and keep your current world in case it all goes wrong. You have seen the map list and decided to take on “World-reset nohc” The command would look like this:

builtin:script resetmap -b NOHARDCORE

Your friend however, is happy to restart their world and wants to try a different map with a little less challenge, like “Morvy Cottage”. They are happy to delete the current world because the base design is awful. Their command would look like this:

builtin:script resetmap -d NOHARDCORE
