Scheduled Tasks for automating server tasks

Sometimes you need to run scheduled tasks on your server to run a backup, restart your server everyday, which is adviable if you are running a modded server.
You can run the following tasks on your server at any set interval from 1 minute, per hour or daily.

  • Admin Say
  • Create Backup
  • Date
  • Give Item
  • Message of the Day
  • Player List
  • Restart
  • Restart if Empty
  • Save World
  • Say Player List
  • Start
  • Stop
  • Stop if Empty
  • Summon Player
  • Teleport Other
  • Teleport To
  • Time
 

Daily World Restart

  1. Click Scheduled tasks
  2. Click New Task
  3. Give it the name of like 'Daily World Restart'
  4. Check interval and change to '1 Days' or '12 hours' this is how often the command is going to be run
  5. Scheduled Time set the time different to any other scheduled tasks
  6. Choose the option 'Restart' from the command dropdown
  7. Run for the 'Server'
  8. Click Create

Send a server message

It is handy to tell everyone on the server about the restart, so it does not seem like it just restarted for no apparent reason.
 
  1. Click Scheduled tasks
  2. Click New Task
  3. Give it the name of like 'Server restarting in a minute'
  4. Check interval and change to '1 Days' or '12 hours' this is how often the command is going to be run
  5. Scheduled Time set the time to one minute before the server restart is going to happen
  6. Choose the option 'Admin Say' from the command dropdown
  7. Enter the message in the Arguments field like 'The server is restarting in 1 minutes time...'
  8. Run for the 'everyone'
  9. Click Create

Creating a Daily Backup

  1. Click Scheduled tasks
  2. Click New Task
  3. Give it the name of 'Daily World Backup'
  4. Check interval and change to '1 Days'
  5. Choose the option 'Create Backup' from the command dropdown
  6. Run for the 'Server'
  7. Click Create
