What are we waiting for? Let’s look into January 2026 and this new year!
Snapshot Releases – The First Drops of 2026
Already off to a great start with the introduction of what’s already coming to 26.1! Man, it feels a bit weird that we’re in a new versioning system from Mojang.

While the first snapshot here was released in December, most of us were on break for Christmas so we didn’t get to update the previous blog. That plus we thought it’d be more fitting to include it here.

Minecraft Modpacks – Concentrated Enjoyment
Time to look into the massive well of modpacks for this month. We got some Christmas Nostalgia on board, people still wanting winter to stay thanks to this. And we even see the return of BM Exosphere in its sequel.

One big thing to take note of though is the Gamma Files. It gives us a new approach to The Lore. This lore is an expansion upon what Minecraft could’ve been and how it fleshes out the world by enhancing older iterations of Alpha & Beta. It blends in the past and present with something new, yet familiar.
Minecraft Maps – Cold Blasts of Refreshment
It’s about time we got some Winter blasting maps! We got the likes of some with Frost Switch switching themselves into view and even the airy breezes coming from Wing Guard.

But maybe Santa should be a focus as you recover his Lost Gifts. It would be pretty helpful to recover these lost items and help the big guy out.
Looking Into February 2026
Talk about a jam packed start to the month! A new year and we’re already on top of it all.
February’s looking to be a bit more condensed and action packed, yet also not blasting people with too much all at once. There’s a lot that players will want to get their hands on whether it’d be the new Hytale release or even tons of new Minecraft Modpacks. ⚔️
StickyPiston Hosting is still here and ready to provide all that players would ever need! Enjoy Minecrafters and look on into the future.
