You may be having problems with your Minecraft server where it crashes especially when a second player joins. Many servers have been offline today due to this issue, the problem is due to a small bug in Spigot.
Today at around 3PM CDT (GMT-5), all the servers running Spigot including modded servers which run MCPC+ crashed simultaneously due to a time specific bug. This has stopped thousands of servers across the world to stop working. This has included large gaming networks like thehive.com and hypixel.net.
The error you will be getting is an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, which is affecting latest builds.
Both the developers of Spigot and MCPC+ have released updated versions that remove the cause of this bug.
This is how you fix your server :-
Spigot 1.7 Servers
- For 1.7 servers select the Development build from the Server selection drop down "Spigot 1.7.5-R0.1 Development Build 1357" then Click save at the bottom of the page then restart your server.
Or
- Change your server to "CraftBukkit 1.7.2-R0.4 Development Build 3023" then click save and restart
Modded servers using MC1.6.4 MCPC+
This include MC 1.6.4 servers like Direwolf20, Attack of the B-Team and ATLauncher servers
We have made a video on how to fix this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt6Y_5XEt9
- Log into to the control panel
- On your server page change the server selection to MCPC+ : 1.6.4-R2.1 forge965 B251
- Click save then restart your server
This will have downloaded an updated version of MCPC+ which has been patched.
- Stop your server
- In the navigation click Files > FTP File Access
- Enter your Multicraft Password and click login
- Rename the server.jar which is similar to the name of your server, this is done by clicking the check box next to it
- Then click the Rename button at the top of the page
- Append .old to the file name and click Submit
- Now rename the mcpc-plus-1.6.4.jar file to the old file name without the .old
- Go back to your server page and choose your server from the server selection
- Click save then restart your server
