Prepare yourself from the Minecraft Game Drop featuring Mounts of Mayhem. 🧟

October’s Minecraft Monthly started showing us the introduction to this spooky drop. Revealed with its name in this post, we got to see Mojang’s plan for our Winter update.
This comes to make sure that adventurers and forgotten mobs are coming back to show themselves in here. We may have gotten some new mounts alongside an extra weapon added into the game, but be on the lookout for those hostile mob variants ready to grapple you 6 feet under!
Main Highlights to 1.21.11
- Camel Husks and the new Parched riding on inside
- A mysterious new water mob mount known as the Nautilus
- The introduction to the Spear and its long range capabilities
- A look into the future for Minecraft’s newer update versioning
Be on the lookout for the Mounts of Mayhem
There’s a lot of dangers to be on the watch out for now. We got Zombie Horses having Zombie Riders. We also got Camel Husks that contain the Parched and its shooting players alongside normal Husks coming to fight you.

It’s best not to get on their bad side, or to quickly eliminate the troubles that they’re going to cause. They wield Spears alongside shoot arrows of weakness to make sure you can’t fight back easily. Best learn to strategize and know when to back away!
Nautilus may Naut-a be your Friend

Ah the humble Nautilus. We’ve seen their shells in the game for a while now. Now they have come in and can be mounted to keep you alive underwater.. but they also have a zombie variation.
The zombie variations will go out of their way to attack you and may even contain Drowned riding them! Unlike their normal Zombie counterpart though? They wield the deadly tridents that can hit from a distance, with even more accuracy! 🔱 Now that’s scary.
Charge right in and jab with the Spear
Lunge, charge, and jab your way across the mobs using the Spear. This item has a tiering system similarly to the swords and axes going from Wood all the way to Netherite. While they may seem slightly weaker to swords, they have a longer range alongside extra abilities!

Parity with Bedrock’s Versioning System

As you may have noticed, starting in 2026, Java’s versioning system will change! This is a major change in development compared to past updates. This will matter a LOT for the future of development.
Why is this being a thing? A lot of people have asked when this started. To keep things short for people – it’s to help keep Bedrock and Java with similar versions while still keeping Java at least different enough. Java still has their major releases (or Minecraft Drops) be the main versioning number. It’s just now represented with the year (i.e. 2026 is 26.) and no more “1.” at the beginning.
After all, it’s not like Minecraft will ever receive a sequel haha.. right? 😅
So what’s in store for 26.1?
Prediction time! Let’s look at what we might have gotten correct from last time. Well it seems like we have predicted the Nautilus actually coming in! That’s pretty good. And we even had the whole “Drowned riding an animal” predicted right!
Too bad they weren’t Dolphins though. Man imagine having to fight Dolphins with Drowned on them. It’d be nuts! So what’s the prediction this time though? Seems to be a bit of a pattern going on. Winter Drops are featuring hostile extras, Spring Drops are nice quality of life additions, Summer Drops add cool functionality for players, and Fall Drops add extra and fun life into the world.
So since the next drop is going to be a Spring Drop, the prediction this time will be Call the Wild.

Call the Wild, as we’re calling it, will focus more on the general wilderness of Minecraft. It’ll focus on adding some additional features to Jungles, add more to the wildlife, and even improve upon the sounds you hear inside of Minecraft. So what’s going to be in it?
- Ambience Additions – Additional sounds like leaf sounds on the ground, birds chirping in the air, or even the sounds of wind
- Another Volume Slider – Background Noises or World Sounds; more ways to customize sound in Minecraft
- Birds! – New birds and different variations that spawn across each biome, look similar to Parrots
- Overgrown Blocks – Additional blocks that have moss or vines growing on top of them
It’s always fun to stretch out the speculations we make. Seeing as we got some predictions right last time, it’s very curious to see what is coming into the next Minecraft drop!
