How To: Install a Resource Pack for Minecraft

Some Minecraft maps require a resource pack for the best experience for players. This guide will walk you through how to install a resource pack.

Installing A Resource Pack (Instructions)

  1. Download the .zip file for the resource pack you want.
  2. Start Minecraft
  3. On the main menu click the Options button.
  4. Click the Resource Packs... button.
  5. Click the Open Resource Pack Folder button.
  6. Move the downloaded ZIP file into the folder that was opened by Minecraft.
  7. Go back to Minecraft, click the Done button.
  8. Click the Resource Packs... button. (again)
  9. The resource pack should now be listed in the column on the left.
  10. Click on the arrow pointing to the right on the image of the resource pack.
  11. Click the Done button.
